Miami Ink MIAMI INK

With Ami James, Chris Garver , Chris Nunez , Darren Brass , Katherine von Drachenberg (aka Kat Von D), Yojiro Harada

Written by Ami James
Directed by Jonathan Wyche, David Roma, Marvin Blunte

The Discovery Channel produces some of the most entertaining reality based shows that are more documentary-based than some stupid competition format. While a lot of it is science-based, some of it is purely for entertainment. One of these is Miami Ink, which follows a new tattoo parlour and its artists in this beach community. Each of these artists have their own style (and personality) and it makes for highly interesting viewing as we look in on them and their work, interaction with each other, and their wide variety of clientèle. This collection offers a Best Of each artist (incl. Kat Von D before she left to start her own shop in Los Angeles, leading to the TV show LA Ink).

Those still under the misconception that tattoos are only for sailors, Metal band members and Alternative folk will once and for all get to see the wide variety of people who get tattooed and the even wider and interesting choice of which designs to immortalize in their skin.
Furthermore this show certainly made the craft more accessible, leading to far more people getting into it.
